Officials in Delmont Borough are saying that the local American Legion improperly sold its post to its next door neighbor. The Trib reports that the borough solicitor recently notified the buyer, 33-year-old Matthew Cunningham, that the property’s sale violates restrictive covenants set forth in a 1930s deed saying that if the post is dissolved, the property’s ownership passes to the local Legion Auxilliary, with the borough part of the line of succession. Post commander Joseph Krill said the post is still in operation, and they followed all the rules.
