An appeals court is set to rule on whether Pennsylvania may dismiss mail-in ballots in the 2024 elections. A three-judge panel of the US Court of Appeals Third District heard testimony on Tuesday, regarding whether ballots with incorrect or missing dates on the return envelope may be thrown out. Plaintiffs, including the Pennsylvania chapter of the NAACP, called the date an immaterial factor, and a judge ruled last year that such a rejection violated the Civil Rights Act. The State Republican Party and national committee appealed. No time frame has been set for a decision.
