DEMOCRAT’S PETITION BEING CHALLENGED

One of the two democratic challengers to US Representative Summer Lee is being challenged on her petition in commonwealth court. The Trib reports that four voters have challenged the petition signatures of Laurie McDonald, claiming that none of the 2200 signatures she collected were valid. Objectors are alleging that MacDonald’s petitions include “defects, other irregularities, and (an) outright pattern of impropriety.” The McDonald campaign says they are confident that there are more than enough signatures and calls the challenges “a sign of weakness” from her political opponent.
