Congresswoman Summer Lee this week has canceled an appearance that she was scheduled to make at an upcoming event hosted by the Council on American-Islamic Relations. The Democratic lawmaker was to deliver remarks at a Saturday event in Philadelphia. Others who are scheduled to speak at the event have been criticized for past remarks that have been described as antisemitic or who have said things that have been criticized about the Israel / Hamas situation or LGBT issues. The Congresswoman says she canceled her plans to attend the event after learning this week about the previous comments made by others who are scheduled to speak.
