TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS AND DETOURS IN EFFECT TODAY FOR NEW KENSINGTON BRIDGE WORK

Traffic restrictions and truck detours will be in effect today for the New Kensington Bridge as work continues in the area. The Trib reports that the long-term traffic shift will start at 7:00 this morning to allow for painting, fence replacement and sidewalk repairs Two 10-foot-wide lanes will be maintained on the bridge spanning the Allegheny River between East Deer and New Kensington. Traffic will be restricted to a single, alternating lane between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. through late this year. Traffic also occasionally will be stopped for 10 minutes, or less, as-needed. Truck traffic will be detoured using the Tarentum Bridge. Signs have been posted.
