A Pittsburgh man has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge connected with the July 2022 shooting death of a man outside a New Kensington apartment building. The Trib reports that the plea for 20-year-old Raquan Carpenter will mark the seventh person to enter a plea in the death of 39-year-old Jason Raiford at the Valley Court Royal Apartments. Prosecutors dismissed seven of the eight counts against Carpenter, including criminal homicide, second-degree murder, robbery, aggravated assault and a weapons offense. He pleaded guilty to one felony count of conspiracy to commit aggravated assault. He will be sentenced later this year, and until then, he will remain in Westmoreland County Jail.
