Westmoreland County’s Republican Commissioners once again reject requests for mail-in ballot drop boxes to be set up ahead of the April 23rd Primary. The Trib reports that seven people came forward requesting the boxes during a public meeting of the elections board yesterday. Neither of the two Republicans, Sean Kertes and Doug Chew, indicated they would change their stance for the primary, nor for the general election in November, when turnout is expected to be higher. In the past, Commissioner Sean Kertes said when the drop boxes were put in place, they were underutilized.
