Weather officials are keeping an eye to the sky for rain as a flood warning remains in effect for Westmoreland County and the surrounding areas until 3:45 this afternoon. The National Weather Service says between 2 to 3.5 inches of rain have already come down across the area and additional rain is expected this afternoon, and that could cause flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood prone locations. Drivers are reminded to “turn around, don’t drown” if they see a road ahead of them that is flooded and to not drive around barricades that have been set up.
