An Allegheny County man who had been facing charges of attempted homicide involving three New Kensington police officers, has struck a deal on lesser charges. Investigators report the officers were riding in a van in February of 2020 and searching for suspects when their vehicle came under fire. None of the officers were hurt. Defendant J’Lamar Washington pleaded guilty yesterday to charges including aggravated assault and was sentenced to a term of five to ten years in prison.
