HEAVY RAIN HAS POSITIVE EFFECT ON BEAVER RUN RESERVOIR

While the floods damaged homes and flooded streets throughout the county, the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County said that the heavy rain from Monday to Wednesday has had a positive effect for the Beaver Run Reservoir.  The Trib reports that about two billion gallons of water has been added to the reservoir, making the water level rise six feet.  This came a few months after the reservoir was under conservation measures due to extremely low water levels.
