Former Greensburg police chief Shawn Denning entered guilty pleas in federal court yesterday to charges related to drug distribution. The Trib reports that Denning pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine, with prosecutors dropping six other charges. Denning is accused of communicating with a government informant over 15 months and connecting that person with drug dealers in California to buy cocaine and methamphetamine, according to the original complaint filed in January 2023 in federal court in Pittsburgh by the Drug Enforcement Administration. His sentencing hearing will be on August 13th and he faces between five and 40 years in prison along with a fine of $5 million.
