A Mutual Aid ambulance is stationed in Jeannette for the time being. Fire Chief Bill Frye and City Councilman Chad Krawtz asked the medical service to keep a vehicle at Jeannette City Hall to improve response times in the community. The Trib reports that area has not had medic crews centrally located since Jeannette EMS shut down last July. Mutual Aid is also using an office space inside City Hall. The City of Jeannette is paying Mutual Aid 12-thousand dollars per year for their service. The other communities they cover in Westmoreland and Fayette counties don’t provide them with any funding.
