One of the Westmoreland County Commissioners has called for the resignation of the county’s register of wills and the PA Senate to start a procedure to remove her from office. The Trib reports that Register of Wills Sherry Hamilton was found in contempt of court Tuesday for official misconduct as an officer of the court; misbehavior in the presence of the court and obstructing the administration of justice.The order also cited Hamilton for failing to properly oversee the Register of Wills office. She is due for sentencing on June 17th. Commissioner Ted Kopas said that she should either resign or the PA Senate should impeach her. Officials with Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward said they are evaluating her case.
