The Hempfield School district is staring down a $3 million deficit in the 2024-25 school year budget. The Trib reports that The proposed budget includes nearly $106.6 million in total revenues and about $109.6 million in expenditures, according to district business manager Paul Schott. He added that the now-stalled project to renovate the high school was not the cause of the deficit. They are still waiting on numbers from the State Government to see how much funding they will get, and that could reduce the deficit. The final budget is set to pass on June 24th.
