Officials in the Burrell School District have announced a public hearing on the potential closure of one of the district’s elementary schools. The Trib reports that the school in question is Stewart Elementary. Officials say that the building is outdated and enrollment at that school continues to decline. Stewart is the oldest school in the district, having been built in 1931. To renovate the school, officials say that architects estimate that the cost would come in at $17 million. The meeting is scheduled for June 25th.
