Westmoreland County is looking at a few options to pay for the conservator that will oversee the Register of Wills office. The Trib reports that it was suggested by County Controller Jeffrey Balzer that a county policy that holds elected row officers liable for financial payouts to resolve legal actions related to their conduct could come into play. Earlier this week, Attorney Jim Antioniono was appointed conservator over the office, where adoption records are processed and filed along with guardianships, wills and estates. Meanwhile Commissioner Sean Kertes continued to call for the elected Register of Wills, Sherri Hamilton, to resign. While she has not commented, Attorney Sean Logue, who Hamilton hired last week as the new office solicitor, said she has now met all the requirements set down by court orders issued against her in 2022 and again in January.
