Revenue that was generated by the county’s register of wills office for the first four months of this year has not been turned over to the county yet. The Trib reports that as much as $500,000 generated through fees and other payments made to Westmoreland’s Register of Wills Office during the first four months of 2024 has not yet been paid. A check for $96,500 was submitted to the county last week, but that was for fees collected during the final month of 2023. Sean Logue, newly hired as solicitor for the office, said the funds soon will be paid to the county, saying the delay was due to a new bookkeeper being hired and trained, and once the training is complete, the money will be turned over.
