Westmoreland County Businesses and Groups have received close to $475,000 in tourism grants.
The Tribune-Review reports that the money was awarded as part of the 2019 Westmoreland County Tourism Grants. The grants ranged from $1,300 to nearly $30,000, and the money comes from a five percent hotel tax applied to room rates.
The largest grant went to Historic Hanna’s Town and the Westmoreland County Historical Society, and it received $29,450. The organization plans on using the money to promote yearly events and make the 1910 Steel family farmhouse ready to use for special events and meetings.
