Arnold Palmer Regional Airport is anticipating its 2,000,000th customer since February of 2011, when Spirit Airlines became the sole commercial carrier at the facility.
The Tribune-Review reports that the milestone could be hit as early as next month. In statistics released by the airport, they have seen an uptick in the number of passengers coming or going from the airport. In 2018, the airport served 300,858 customers. In 2017, they served 299,391.
Airport officials are also hoping for a chance to widen the runway as prep work begins to install a second passenger boarding bridge.
