Court documents say that a Philadelphia man who carjacked a woman and drove off with her infant grandson just minutes after he was released from county prison was under the influence of a combination of opioids, marijuana and anxiety medicine.
The Tribune-Review reports that 36-year-old Thomas Lee Williams was charged with kidnapping, robbery of a vehicle and other crimes in connection with that incident on December 4th. Williams crashed two miles away from the prison, and there were no reported injuries.
District Judge Mark Mansour ordered Williams to be held in county prison on $250,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for January 25th.
