We really dodged the snow bullet this weekend. But the issue this morning is the bitter cold, and when you factor in the wind, we are seeing the coldest conditions of the winter so far.
The National weather service has the entire region under a Wind Chill Advisory today until 1 this afternoon. A Wind Chill Warning is in effect for the ridges in Westmoreland and Fayette.
Most roads are dry, but secondary roads could have icy spots. PennDOT has lifted all speed restrictions on the Turnpike and interstate highways.
Any snow that might have melted yesterday refroze over night. Authorities are advising caution driving, especially early this morning.
The tricky path of the winter storm that roared through here Saturday and Sunday ended up in our favor, with snow totals on the low side and most areas getting between two and three inches.
