A Greensburg man is accused of assaulting a woman in a Southwest Greensburg apartment.
The Tribune-Review reports that 26-year-old Giovanni Meighan now faces charges of burglary, criminal trespass, terroristic threats, simple assault, strangulation and other crimes in connection with the incident last Friday. The victim had called police earlier in the night, but when police followed up with her, they found her running down the street without shoes or a coat in 20-degree weather and crying. One of the responding officers saw Meighan chase the victim.
After the initial incident, the victim claimed Meighan snuck back into her apartment and assaulted her. Meighan denied any wrongdoing.
Meighan is now in Westmoreland County Prison after failing to post $25,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for February 12th.
