TESTIMONY BEGINS IN POLICE CHASE TRIAL

Testimony started yesterday in the trial of a man accused of leading police on a chase in Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties in November of 2023 that ended with gunfire.  The Trib reports that 40-year-old Bruce Alvarado faces charges related to the chase.  Alvarado is charged with attempted homicide, assault of a law enforcement officer, aggravated assault and related offenses.  His attorney said they don’t dispute that he was driving, but want the jurors to keep in mind what his intent was.  The trial is expected to continue today.
