Officials are identifying a man who died after jumping from the Tarentum Bridge on Tuesday morning. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office says 68-year-old Thomas Peter Link, of New Kensington, is the man who leapt into the Allegheny River shortly before 11:30 a.m. and died before he could be taken to the hospital. First responders were able to get to Link quickly but they needed help getting him out of the water, which has been at high levels due to recent rainfall. Crew members with Eureka Fire Rescue EMS got Link to a boat launch with help from the New Kensington Fire Department river rescue team.
