The Westmoreland Historical Society and Hempfield officials are coordinating a meeting with county officials to address speeding in Historic Hannas Town. The Trib reports that vehicle traffic is regularly seen speeding in the area, and that is causing problems for visitors who need to cross Forbes Trail Road to explore both sides of the property. Currently the speed limit is 40 mph, but officials want to reduce it to 25 mph as a short-term solution. Officials say they would like to see the Forbes Trail Road realigned as a more permanent solution.
