The University of Pittsburgh has formally closed its Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Officials say it was replaced with the new Office of Institutional Engagement and Well-Being. The U.S. Department of Education threatened federal funding cuts if Pitt did not stop “using race preferences and stereotypes.” Multiple other higher education institutions have made similar changes to comply with President Trump’s directives.
