State police are issuing a citation to a former candidate for mayor in Jeannette because he reportedly refuses to take down campaign signs. Troopers say they have asked Ed Day to get rid of his signs that are stapled to utility poles but he has not done so. Day was running in the primary back in May but he lost the election. State law says political candidates are responsible for having their campaign materials cleaned up within ten days following an election, plus it is illegal to attach anything to a utility pole.
