A woman from Pittsburgh died in a crash in the Derry Township area over the weekend.
Westmoreland County coroner Ken Bacha announced in a news release that Mary A. Mastriano was a passenger in a van that was going west on Route 22 around 10 AM on Saturday morning, when the van went off the road near the intersection with Rushwood Road. The van hit a utility pole and then rolled several times, throwing Mastriano from the van.
The driver, John Mastriano was wearing his seat belt while Mary was not. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
