Search efforts continued on Sunday in the Brush Creek area in North Huntingdon as crews from Westmoreland and Allegheny County are trying to find a body that a witness told police was floating in the creek.
The Tribune-Review reports that Sunday was day two in the search for the body. The body was reportedly discovered Saturday afternoon as Westmoreland County 911 was called in at 1:27 PM by a man who was using a metal detector near the creek when he and his son saw what they believed to be a body.
Crews were out on inflatable rafts, and several dive teams were on the scene, along with a State Police helicopter looking from above and cadaver dogs looking on the ground.
Officials will meet this morning to discuss the next course of action.
