The Gibson SG Custom guitar played by Metallica’s Kirk Hammett during the Back to the Beginning concert has a new owner.
The guitar sold at auction for over 76-thousand dollars. The winning bid exceeded the estimated price of the instrument, which was set at four-thousand-to-six-thousand-dollars. Kirk played the guitar during Metallica’s Back to the Beginning set for a cover of Black Sabbath’s “Hole in the Sky.”
The event, which took place July 5th, ended with a performance from the original Sabbath lineup.
