A home along Route 356 in Allegheny Township was destroyed in a three-alarm fire Thursday afternoon.
WTAE-TV reports the fire started around 1:15 in the afternoon, and crews had problems getting water to the scene because the nearest hydrant was two miles away.
No one was home at the time of the fire, there were no reported injuries, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
