The mother of a disabled 5-year-old boy in Ligonier who died last year has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against a home-based health care provider from New Jersey and the nurse who was assigned to take care of him.
The Tribune-Review reports that the boy’s mother, Gabrielle Bronson, said that Bayada Home Health Care was hired to provide home care for her son, who was diagnosed with an illness that left him a quadriplegic and on a ventilator. The lawsuit says the nurse was negligent in her duties concerning that ventilator around 7:00 AM, and to make sure everything else was okay. Two hours later, the boy became unresponsive, and the nurse called 911.
The boy died later that day. Bronson said the nurse and Bayada were negligent and she is seeking unspecified damages.
