In 1976 Jackson Browne lost his wife, Phyllis Major, when she took her own life.
In 1979 Van Halen released the album “Van Halen 2.”
In 1990 Tommy Lee of Motley Crue was arrested and charged with indecent exposure after mooning the audience at a show in Augusta.
In 1995 Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder was swept away in a riptide off the coast of New Zealand. He was rescued that same day.
In 2005 Ozzy Osbourne and wife Sharon’s mansion in Buckinghamshire caught on fire while they slept.
In 2006 Stone Sour announced that drummer Joel Ekman was no longer in the group. He had not been working with the band on its second album because his son was terminally ill. Ex-Soulfly drummer Roy Mayorga had been filling in, and two months later Stone Sour named him Ekman’s permanent replacement.
In 2014 Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger was among several people who spoke at the private funeral for his girlfriend, L’Wren Scott, at the Hollywood Forever Funeral Home in Los Angeles. Jagger’s daughters Karis and Jade, his grandchildren, and Scott’s brother also took part in the service. L’Wren was found dead in her Manhattan apartment on March 17th after taking her own life.
In 2015 Radiohead’s album “Ok Computer” was one of 25 recording to be preserved by the U.S. Library of Congress.
In 2022 American drummer Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters dies at 50.
