High winds damage was seen across Westmoreland County and the surrounding areas yesterday.
Wind gusts were reported as high as 60 miles an hour at the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport, and more than 50 miles an hour in Pittsburgh.
The Tribune-Review reports that Westmoreland County Public Safety crews responded to about 500 calls of downed trees and electrical lines. As many as 7,000 West Penn Power customers were without power at one point. There are still several scattered outages as of this morning, with no word yet from West Penn Power as to when power will be restored.
