A former Monessen man accused of assaulting a 3-year-old boy by burning his hands with hot water was sentenced yesterday.
The Tribune-Review reports that 24-year-old Fred Bacon was sentenced to serve six to 23 months in jail and must seek and complete mental health counseling. The man reportedly put the boy’s hands under scalding hot water. This came after the child came inside and complained of being cold.
Bacon claimed in court during sentencing that he didn’t mean to hurt the child.
Judge Christopher Feliciani said that he could be given parole provided he starts to get mental health counseling.
