A man was killed in a crash in Derry Township on Friday afternoon.
Westmoreland County Coroner Kenneth Bacha said that Robert Cochran, a 77-year-old man from Blairsville in Indiana County, was killed in the two-vehicle collision Friday afternoon on Route 217 near the intersection with Curnow Drive. Cochran was driving south on 217 when another vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on.
Cochran was pronounced dead at the scene. A 77-year-old passenger in Cochran’s vehicle was airlifted to UPMC Presbyterian for treatment of injuries. His condition is not known at this time.
