Billy Ray Boggs, Jr. lost his third appeal on Friday of his life prison sentence.
According to the Tribune-Review, Boggs is serving a life sentence for the 2015 murder of Thomas Guerico, his sister’s boyfriend. Police said he allegedly hit Guerico in the head with a hammer and stabbed him in the chest.
Over the last three years, Boggs has tried to withdraw his guilty plea, claiming he was coerced by the district attorney and his own defense attorneys, and he also claimed he suffered from a mental condition that clouded his judgement.
