Water service was restored in the early evening for Municipal Authority customers in the Jeannette area after a water main break Wednesday afternoon.
The Tribune-Review reports that witnesses saw the break progress from a small trickle to a large gushing break that went 15-feet into the air at times.
Municipal Authority crews were made aware of the break at 1:00 and shut off water at 1:30. Representatives said that a 14-inch line broke and that left customers within a block of the Cuyler Avenue and Second Street area without water.
Crews were quick and water service was able to be restored.
