Wayne Jones announced his resignation as the manager for the city of Latrobe.
The Tribune-Review reports that Jones’ resignation came abruptly during last night’s council meeting. He stated that he enjoyed working with the city and that it was time to retire. The resignation was accepted unanimously and they also approved a separation agreement.
There had been an argument between Jones and Mayor Rose Wolford at the agenda planning meeting over a chain of command issue, but Jones said afterwards that the arguments were “minor issues” in his words.
City department heads will handle the day-to-day duties of the city manager until a new one is hired.
