A Greensburg woman hired to take care of an elderly Derry Township woman is accused of stealing nearly $2,200 from the elderly woman by buying gift cards using her credit card.
Police say their suspect, 45-year-old Mary Ellen Posich, used the elderly woman’s credit card to buy the gift cards at a Shop n Save in Latrobe and a Giant Eagle in Unity. This happened seven times between December 3rd and February 22nd. The victim reported the incident after she disputed the charges made at the grocery store.
Posich was arraigned and released on her own recognizance, but must show up for a preliminary hearing on March 27.
