The lawyer for a Turtle Creek man charged with selling drugs to two men who would later die of drug overdoses is asking that separate trials take place.
The Tribune-Review reports that 30-year-old Demetrius Christmas of Turtle Creek faces consolidated charges for the deaths of Paul Lucas of Murrysville, who died in April of 2017, and of Jeffrey Gettemy of Greensburg. In both cases, police say that Christmas sold the drugs to 34-year-old Jeremy Mason of Manor who in turn gave them to the two victims.
Christmas’ trial is set to start in April, but Judge Tim Krieger allowed the trial to be delayed until June to allow time to consider the new defense request.
