The lawyers for a Hempfield man charged with murdering his girlfriend are claiming his confession was illegally obtained.
The Tribune-Review reports that defense attorneys Donna McClelland and Eric Hoffman that police placed 55-year-old Allen Trent in custody and improperly elicited statements that implicated him in the shooting of his live-in girlfriend in their Waycross Home. The two attorneys claimed at the time that he was not under arrest and did not inform him of his rights until after the confession was given.
