Westmoreland County Commissioners have approved spending over a half-million dollars to improve the county’s parks.
The Tribune-Review reports that the commissioners approved an annual tourism plan that will spend $862,000 generated by additional hotel taxes imposed on daily room rentals to improve parks. This includes the first half of a disc-golf course at Mammoth Park, installing winter tubing and sledding runs at Cedar Creek and others.
The park upgrades are a large part of the comprehensive plan for future growth that was enacted last year.
