A Derry Township man was charged with multiple counts of assaulting and threatening a state trooper who came to his house to investigate a domestic disturbance.
Troopers from the Kiski Barracks have charged 57-year-old Charles D. Leonard, who was arraigned before acting district judge Jason Buczak on charges connected with an incident at a home in the 500 block of Pandora Road.
Leonard shouted curse words at the officers, who were called out after someone reported a verbal domestic dispute. When troopers arrived, they said that Leonard was belligerent, ordered the police off the property, and had grabbed one of the troopers when he was asked to put his hands behind his back to be handcuffed.
Leonard is in Westmoreland County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail.
