A Westmoreland County Judge has thrown out drug charges against a Latrobe man who has been in prison since last summer.
The Tribune-Review reports that Common Pleas Court Judge Tim Krieger ruled that there was not enough evidence to prosecute Christopher Twigger. This boils down to a drug-filled backpack found unattended on a Latrobe street. Police said Twigger’s photo ID and two prescription bottles with his name on it were in the backpack, and they allegedly found more drug-related evidence when they got to his home.
In his four-page opinion, Judge Krieger said that the backpack was never seen in Twigger’s possession, nor was there evidence presented to show that Twigger was in the area where the backpack was found.
