The PA Fish and Boat Commission said that about 20 gallons of oil spilled into a tributary of the Youghiogheny River.
The Tribune-Review reports that the oil came from a heating oil tank that was thought to be empty in the basement of a home being demolished on Fitz Henry Road. Cleanup crews were able to stop the leak, but oil was found in the tributary, and a small amount made it to the Youghigheny.
Dead aquatic life was not seen and warnings have not been issued for people downstream.
