The Justice Department has sued the owner of a Hempfield apartment complex for discriminating against disabled renters.
The Tribune-Review reports that the lawsuit was filed by a U.S. Attorney in southern Ohio against Miller-Valentine Operations in Dayon and their affiliates. The attorneys say that the company violated the Fair Housing Act and Americans with Disabilities Act by building apartment buildings with barriers to accessibility.
The two complexes in question are Allegheny Pointe in Allegheny Township and Walkers Ridge Apartments in Hempfield.
