A former South Greensburg borough secretary is expected to plead guilty today to embezzlement charges.
The Tribune-Review reports that 52-year-old Dennis Lee Kunkle, Jr. is accused of taking over $155,000 from the community’s cash fund from 2012 to 2016. Judge Rita Hathaway said that Kunkle’s elderly father is to testify today to ensure that the $101,000 that Kunkle is expected to use to repay the borough is not stolen. Repayment is expected to be part of the guilty plea.
Police said that Kunkle diverted borough money generated from garbage fees and other sources for personal use.
