A Sewickley man will serve up to six years in prison for his part in a fatal vehicle crash in 2015.
The Tribune-Review reports that 31-year-old Matthew Poston was sentenced for a guilty verdict on a charge of leaving the scene of a crash on Lowber Road in February of 2015 that took the life of 33-year-old Gary Moore, Jr. Prosecutors said that Poston was driving Moore home because Moore was intoxicated when he hit a patch of ice and veered off the road, hitting a utility pole. After the crash, Poston walked back to the club they were at and called 911, but avoided police for 24 hours.
Poston was sentenced to the mandatory 3-6 years, but said he was eligible for boot camp, which means he could be eligible for parole in 18 months after serving a portion of his sentence and completing boot camp.
