Student ‘Skateboard Art’ Auction
Greensburg Salem School District Partners with Shop Greensburg and Westmoreland Cultural Trust for Student ‘Skateboard Art’ Auction
The Greensburg Salem School District is pleased to announce its partnership with the Greensburg Business & Professional Association (aka Shop Greensburg) and the Westmoreland Cultural Trust in hosting a student art auction to raise money for the district’s Giving Tree Project and High School Art Club.
Throughout April, downtown businesses will display student-designed artistic skateboard decks on which people may bid. Proceeds from the auction will support two great causes. The first is the Giving Tree Project, a charitable cause sponsored by Greensburg Salem students and staff to purchase holiday presents for less fortunate students. The second cause is the Greensburg Salem H.S. Art Club. Funds will be used for art field trips, supplies, and exhibition opportunities for students.
Greensburg Salem High School painting students participated in creating artistic skateboard designs, researching, and planning their artwork theme, and painting their skateboard decks. Skateboard themes include animals, flowers, Pittsburgh, Greensburg, Music, video gaming, graffiti, abstract motifs, and more.
